Today marks WebFaction’s tenth birthday: ten years of hosting, ten years of support, and ten years of working to provide a service that we can be proud of. Ten years ago WebFaction opened its metaphorical doors to the world, and though a lot has changed since then, including our name, we hope to be doing for another ten years what we’ve always done: our best for our customers.
To celebrate this milestone, we’re giving away $100,000 in hosting services to new and existing customers. Starting tomorrow at 2pm UTC, new and existing customers may receive a one-time credit added to their accounts.
New customers: just sign up from tomorrow Feb 5th at 2pm UTC and pay $9.50 for the first month (or pay for longer). $100 will automatically be credited to your account.
Existing customers: add one new service to your account from tomorrow Feb 5th at 2pm UTC (a 256 MB plan, 256 MB extra memory, or a 1GB plan) and pay for one month of that service, and you will receive the next three months of that service for free.
Each customer is limited to one credit only, and it is non-transferable and non-refundable. Once we’ve given away $100,000 in services, the promotion will end and we’ll update this blog post to reflect that. Be quick or you might miss out on the free services. If you don’t need them yourself you can refer a friend and earn yourself some affiliate rewards.

If you have an affiliate account open a ticket and say that you want to upgrade to a hosting account. Pay for the first month and you’ll get the $100 credit (as long as we haven’t reached the $100,000 limit). When we reach the $100,000 limit we’ll update this blog post and we’ll announce it on Twitter and Facebook.
Unsure when the promotion starts – is it starting at the time of the post until 2PM CST tomorrow (2/5) – or does it not start until 2PM CST tomorrow (2/5)?

The $100 credit is added after you pay the normal price for signing up. So if you choose to pay for one-year during the sign up you’ll still have to pay $102 and you’ll get the $100 credit added once your account is set up.
If I pay for my current webhost or update the disk space , will this count on the promo?
Yes, if you add extra disk space to your account that counts as an extra service and you can get 3 free months for that after paying for one month.
I have a question about the promo: I would like to add a new 256 Mb plan to my existing account. If I pay one month, will I get the $100 credit promo?

If you add a new service you will get the next 3 months of that service for free. The credit amount depends on how much that service costs.

Well, created account by paying $9.5 got $100 credits but I’m not able to use those credits
to pay for next few more months.
How should exactly I use those credits ??
Yes these credits are used to pay for the next several months. What they cannot be used for is be counted as part of a yearly payment (which gives you a discount).
To extend my account for next few more motnhs , I chose “make one off payment”. Here it says :
“your account is paid up. We will charge your active payment source for the next period on 05 Feb 2013. Thank you.”
first I think the date is wrong is should “05 march 2013″.
second I don’t get any option to pay via credits there.

For the monthly plan I paid $9.5 for first month and the remaining $105 will be used for the next 11 months from my $100 credit and I will have to pay $5 more, right? And after 1 year I shall have to pay further if I want to keep the account, is that right?

If you’re an existing customer you need to add a new service and pay for one month of that new service. Then we give you a credit for 3 months worth of that new service.
