New websites interface

Today we’re proud to unveil a new development in our control panel: an improved websites interface. As a part of our ongoing effort to make the control panel better and easier to use, we’ve revised the tool you use to assemble websites out of domains and applications. Now you can add a new domain name, install a new app, and create a new website all in one place; there’s no need to navigate to several different pages.

We’ve created this introductory tutorial video to give you a quick tour:

Of course, the control panel isn’t the only way to manage your websites. Our API can be used to automate the process of creating websites and applications, if you anticipate making sites in bulk.

Hello, I like the new Admin, but there is something that really bothers me so far. Sometimes, when I release a new version of my site, I point the base “/” to a construction page, and then after deploying, I just switch back to point to the new code.

However, in the new version, I think you guys have a bug. If I remove the prod site and then add in the new construction (or vice versa), I get an error. However, if I remove the site first, click save, come back and set it up to point to construction, click save….it works. I should be able to do it in whole action, rather than having to click save and come back in.

  4. Guys, you do an amazing job. It’s great to be a webfactional. Thanks very much!

At first I had some troubles with assigning subdomains to my foo.webfactional.com account, but now I’m used to it. WebFaction fo’ lyf!
